Stay tuned because when I open it you will find a (hopefully) nice picture of the drink.
The ketchup will go well together with a steak marinated with NoMU's BBQ Rub. This mix of spices from South Africa contains coriander, black pepper, garlic, onions, mustard seeds, parsley, marjoram and cumin. The flavour is sweet and smoky at the same time, and is enhanced when the meat is BBQed.
Now we come to something really special: jam from Togo in West Africa. Maloè Mangue Passion Confiture (next to the BBQ rub) is jam made from mangos and passion fruit. The company promotes it as „goût du soleil d’Afrique“ (the taste of the African sun), and with 80% of fruit content that can only be true.
Finally, the box contained a lovely chocolate bar. Broderick's Chocolate and Caramel Shortbread is a delicious blend between crunchy shortbread, creamy Belgian chocolate and sweet caramel. I really liked this Irish sweet in the creative wrapping.
So, that was the foodist gourmet box of May 2014. In about two weeks time the one for June will arrive at my doorstep. If you are curious about its contents, come back to my blog :)
